How To Speed Up YouTube Videos
Speeding up a YouTube video is as simple as increasing the playback speed to 1.25x or greater. The way to do this varies depending on where you’re watching the video.
YouTube App
Pause the video you’re watching and tap the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Then, tap Playback speed. Choose your desired speed, then resume watching the video.
Mobile Web Browser
Pause the YouTube video and tap the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the video window. Tap the box under Speed and choose your desired playback speed.
Desktop Web Browser
Click the gear icon in the lower right-hand corner of the video window. Then, click Playback speed. Choose your desired playback speed of 1.25x or greater to speed up the video!
How To Slow Down YouTube Videos
Sometimes you’d rather slow down a video. This is especially useful when you’re watching a step-by-step tutorial and don’t want to miss any information.
You can follow the same steps outlined above to slow down YouTube videos too. When you’re choosing a playback speed, select .75x or below to slow down the video.
