• iPhone X is not waterproof my Son’s water bottle slightly leaked on phone & now it doesn’t work 🤬

• I just dropped my phone in the toilet with no case. It was in there for about 25 seconds and there was no water damage to the phone. The ones below just sound like bad luck.

• my phone was in a otter box case in my pocket and I put some water ontop of my head because it was 100 degrees outside. My phone keeps flashing the apple logo on and off and wont turn on. Its definitely NOT waterproof. Heck you shouldn't even say the word water next to the phone just to be careful

• The iphone X is ACTUALLY NOT waterproof to any depth. I have had two of them and both have been in no less than 5 inches of water for the first one and about 1.5 ft for the sec for no more than 30 seconds but both were completely destroyed by the water within 5 min of being removed from the very short submission.
  Apple is LYING through their freaking teeth when they claim ANY kind of resistance or waterproof. If they were actually waterproof to any degree, Apple would be willing to back it up but they aren't.

• It is not waterproof and too costly to find replacement or repairs. My Iphone X just got damage in a swimming pool recently.
  With the monies required to spend on repairs or replacement, it is better to get other new phone like Huawei Mate 20 etc. It is not woth to spend monies to buy such an expensive phone with high maintenance. I have given up on Apple Iphone.

• Sorry but you cannot day it is waterproof if it isnt , waterproof mean exactly that it means it withstands water and it seems that putting a time span on it is not what waterproof means

• I realize "water-resistant" and "water-proof" are very different as explained to me in a hostile tone by the Apple store representative..... My phone slid off the side of my sink into water and was immediately removed and dried off. The phone clearly has immediate water damage confirmed by apple and now the phone must be replaced (can not repaired) at my expense. I would have no issue with replacing the phone if it were not marketed/advertised as "water-resistant to a depth of 2 meters for up to 30 minutes"! This is MISLEADING AND DECEPTIVE to say the least and I am sure Apple is fully aware of this fact!

• The X is NOT WATERPROOF. My daughter took some snaps in a shallow pool and its now a dead phone.

• I have an iPhoneX and love it. I have a pool in my backyard and just wondered how long it can stay under water at a depth of about 6 (the depth under water of the 1st step) without sustaining damage!

• NOT WATERPROOF. Lesson learned. Water resistant is not water proof. Just means some water can splash but cannot be under water not even for seconds.

• iPhone X is not waterproof and Apple will not warranty liquid damage period. My phone was submerged for 1 hr. At a depth of 6-8 inches. Where my phone continued to work the face recognition stopped working and camera image went cloudy. Dont submerge you phone and buy Apple Care Plus. I am very disappointed with Apple for not standing behind their products.

• Forget waterproof for iPhone X. I had it in my shorts with which I walked through a sprinkler a few times. Thats enough to bring up the red line inside the chip bay, indicating water infiltration. I have AppleCare plus and it cost me CAD 150 with taxes. That is the truth on how watertight it is. DO NOT PUSH YOUR LUCK!!!!

• My iPhone X fell ~5 ft to the bottom of Lake Minnetonka (MN) today while powered on and sat at the bottom for about an hour before I found it with my foot (I didnt see it fall in, so didnt know exactly where to look or even that it had fallen in initially) it was still on when I pulled it out with the find my iPhone alarm buzzing. Dropped it in a bag of rice to dry out, but was working totally fine when it came out and 6 hours later is still working fine. Not recommending that you go swimming with your iPhone, but was / am very pleasantly surprised that it was submerged at 5ft in not exactly pristine water for an hour while on and seems to be working fine. (Posting from the same phone).

• We need to start a class action lawsuit against Apple and the so called water resistant comments. Whos in? I have tons of money in Apple products and sick of throwing money away. From Headphones to laptops. I even owned stock, but sold it all to buy Facebook stock (great choice). Any Corp lawyers want in?

Thanks to this extremely misleading article my 12 year old daughter tried to take pictures with her DAY OLD X underwater, barely submerged the tip of the phone (in an otterbox case) for SECONDS and is no longer functioning. So NO. It is NOT waterproof. And the "30 minutes at one meter" thing is absolute bulls***. This article is EXTREMELY misleading. And honestly downright irresponsible. She LITERALLY got home and showed me THIS article as what made her think it was ok.

• The phone is not water proof. 2 feet of water for 15 minutes and it does not work. Used rice and whole bit. Reading Apples statement that 1 meter for 30 minutes is ok has to be misleading if they do not warranty their product for water damage.

• I was in3 ft of water and my iPhone X screen went green. I turned it off . Dryed it and put it in. rice . My phone no longer works.

• I wish I read this before using my x to take videos in my aquarium. I only sbmerged it a few inches and it's now toast. Anyone who has had better experince with shallow submersion is plain lucky. This phone is definitly not waterproof as defined by it's IP67 rating. Anyone have any suggestions on how to recoupe my 1K loss?

• I have the 7 and it comes in pool and water parks with me and the kids all the time. Lost it for about 10 minutes in about 8 ft deep pool this weekend. Never missed a lick. Love how I can take pictures of the kids with no worries!

• Went with ip X swimming in a local pool. Took pix and videos above and underwater for 30 minutes. Everything came out awesome, phone works great..phenomenal videos under water.

• The iPhone X is not waterproof. One fell on the pool shelf less than a food deep...no visible damage or jarring, screen blacked out and would hold charge. It was in the water for less than 3 seconds. Do not put your iPhone X in the water under any circumstances.

• My daughter had my phone in the bathtub for a good 20 mins washing it and having submerged. Not a thing happened she 3 didnt realize she had it literally submerged . She was washing you tube.

• My iPhone X was just a couple of weeks old when it got splashed by a wave (equivalent to about a cup of water). It never got submerged at any point. That night, the screen started to fade, then went black and it hasnt worked since. I took it back to the Apple shop and they told me there was nothing they could do - the phone was water damaged. I felt very unhappy. I think the IP67 rating is over-rated. I think Apple should replace my phone.

• Just get this:

  I've had it on my X for a month now and I've been in pools and the ocean. No worries. I put it in a jug of water with an album playing. Pulled it out dried it with a towel and there wasn't even a hint of water when I opened the case.

• It is encouraging to know that the iPhone X is rated IP67 which means that "Ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time (up to 1 m of submersion)". However, it means little without Apple guaranteeing it as such. My wife's X fell into water approx 30 cm deep, heated up so it was too hot to touch and died. Apple say that it's not their problem because the warranty does not cover liquid damage. So, not such good news as you suggest David!

• My first Iphone, the Iphone X noted that this is not IP67 from my experience. I have my Iphone for a month and because i like to have a clean phone, i used a wet wipes that will take out all the dirt that is on the phone. Unfortunately, the water from the wipes went in the sim card tray and damaged the phone. The phone never turn back on after that. it is probably poor quality control where it was manufactured which is China. And Apple will not replace the damn phone. Thanks Apple for basically taking my $1K. I am going back to Samsung phones.

• The s***e phone X isn't waterproof. Placed in shallow sea water for seconds and rinsed off with fresh bottled water straight away; long story short, the phone broke! 1150 down the drain, what a waste of time... Almost as bad as the mistakes Apple made with the Macbook Pro #RantOver

• Its helpful to describe what the test entails. Ipx7 (only looking at waterproof rating, x is the dust designation only) is Submerged in 1m (3 feet) of water for 30 minutes. Most of us never get close to that, so the current iPhone 7/8/x should be fine.

• Don't care if it is IP67 or IP68 if water damage isn't coveed under warranty.
